Designed for modern kitchens, dark cabinetry, shelving and contemporary interiors, the black aluminium channel provides a clean surface-mounted housing for LED strip lighting while creating a striking contrast around the illuminated diffuser.

Measuring 17mm wide x 8mm high with a 12mm internal channel width, this shallow LED profile is compact enough for discreet installations while providing room for many commonly used LED strip widths.

Black 17mm x 8mm Aluminium LED Profile

The matte black appearance makes this LED channel particularly suited to black kitchens, charcoal cabinetry, dark timber joinery, commercial interiors and architectural lighting designs. When switched off, the black profile integrates neatly with darker surfaces. When illuminated, the bright linear diffuser creates a premium contrasting lighting effect.

Its shallow 8mm profile height keeps the installation streamlined, while the 17mm width gives the fitting enough visual presence to look intentional rather than simply appearing as exposed LED tape.

12mm Internal Width for LED Strip Lighting

The internal channel measures approximately 12mm wide, making this profile compatible with many popular LED strip formats. It can be used with conventional SMD strip as well as high-density and COB LED strip lighting.

Because connectors can be wider than the LED strip PCB itself, check the dimensions of your strip, solder joints and connectors before installation.

Perfect for COB Dotless LED Strip

For a premium continuous-light appearance, combine this black aluminium profile with COB LED strip lighting. COB technology uses closely packed LEDs to reduce visible spotting and create a smooth linear illumination effect behind the diffuser.

This combination works especially well in kitchens, bars, entertainment areas and architectural interiors where the LED profile itself forms part of the overall design.

Product Specifications

Overall Width: 17mm

Overall Height: 8mm

Internal Width: 12mm

Colour: Black

Material: Aluminium

Mounting Type: Surface mount

Profile Type: Shallow square LED profile

Diffuser: Included

End Caps: 2 included

Mounting Clips: 2 included

Designed for Modern Dark Cabinetry

Black aluminium LED profiles are increasingly popular in contemporary interiors where lighting hardware is intended to coordinate with black tapware, appliances, cabinet handles and dark joinery.

Ideal installation locations include:

Black and charcoal kitchen cabinetry

Under kitchen cupboards

Kitchen splashbacks

Dark timber shelving

Walk-in wardrobes

Display cabinets

Bars and entertainment areas

Retail shop displays

Office fit-outs

Architectural feature lighting

A Cleaner Alternative to Exposed LED Strip

Instead of attaching bare LED tape directly to cabinetry or shelving, an aluminium profile gives the installation a more finished and permanent appearance.
